Before you buy
- Open-back: sound escapes the earcups and room noise comes in, so it does not suit shared spaces, offices, or travel.
- Wired only: there is no Bluetooth, so it needs a source with a headphone output.
- At 450 g, it is among the heavier models in this range.
Who it suits
Made for how you listen
- Listening at home in a quiet room
Listening experience
The open-back design lets sound pass through the grilles, so it is not sealed in around your ears and you stay aware of the room.
Planar magnetic drivers move a thin diaphragm across its whole surface instead of from a voice coil at the centre.
HiFiMan lists a frequency response of 8 Hz – 65 kHz.
